Hi Robert. Thank you for the great review! We are happy we were able to help you out and meet your expectations. If you require anything else, let us know. The Cosy Crew. C Surfin2024-06-13Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just had Cosy top off my attic to R60 with Weathershield insulation. The guys were on time and did a fantastic job. Before starting the job they went through the process with me and then proceeded with laying out plastic to protect my floors and walls. Once they stretched out the hose to pump the insulation through and sprayed the WeatherShield in the attic. After removing the blower hose, plastic and tools, the vacuumed their work area. in addition to energy savings we will receive, we have noticed a quieter upstairs from the sound damping effect from the extra insulation. Highly recommend this company. Thank you, Clarence S

Attic Insulation FAQs
Thinking about upgrading your attic insulation? We’ve compiled answers to the most common questions from homeowners about improving comfort, cutting energy costs, and knowing when it’s time for an upgrade.
Still have attic insulation questions in Stony Plain?
Stony Plain winters are long and cold. Quality attic insulation helps keep heat inside, lower energy bills, and prevent issues like ice dams and frost from forming on your roof.
Many Stony Plain homeowners cut heating costs by 15%–25% after upgrading attic insulation, especially in older houses with worn or inadequate materials.
Blown-in cellulose or fiberglass are excellent choices for Stony Plain homes, providing strong protection against harsh cold and performing well in houses that already have some insulation installed.
If your home feels drafty, heats unevenly, or your attic shows visible gaps or thin insulation, it’s likely time for an upgrade. Homes built before 1990 should be checked first.
Most insulation lasts 20–30 years, but Stony Plain’s cold, dry winters can cause it to wear out sooner if not installed correctly. Routine inspections help spot issues early.
It’s one of the most affordable ways to keep your home cozy in winter and cool in summer, while also shielding your roof from moisture, frost, and long-term wear.
In Stony Plain, upgrading your attic insulation can typically pay for itself within 3–5 years through energy savings, particularly in older homes or those with minimal insulation.
Blown-in insulation (typically fiberglass or cellulose) is a smart choice for covering large attic spaces quickly and evenly, helping homes handle the region’s cold winters. Spray foam insulation creates a tight seal that’s especially useful for blocking drafts, sealing gaps, and preventing moisture issues during freeze-thaw cycles. Both are energy-efficient, and the right option will depend on your attic’s layout and budget.
Spray foam insulation may have a higher upfront cost, but it delivers superior air sealing and a strong R-value. It’s a great choice for Stony Plain homes facing moisture issues, drafts, or for those wanting lasting efficiency with minimal heat loss.
Absolutely — loose fill insulation is a popular choice for Stony Plain attics, especially when boosting existing insulation. It’s great at filling uneven spaces and is typically made from cellulose or fiberglass. This option improves energy efficiency without requiring a full insulation overhaul.
Spray foam insulation is a smart choice for attics with exposed joists or tricky rooflines. It’s especially effective for sealing gaps, stopping drafts, and tackling moisture issues where batts or blown-in insulation might fall short. A local insulation pro can help determine if it’s the right solution for your home.
Most homes in Stony Plain benefit from insulating the attic floor, but if you use your attic for storage or as a living space, adding wall insulation can make it more comfortable. Insulating both areas can boost overall energy efficiency — especially in the region’s cold, snowy winters.
