Just had Cosy top off my attic to R60 with Weathershield insulation. The guys were on time and did a fantastic job. Before starting the job they went through the process with me and then proceeded with laying out plastic to protect my floors and walls. Once they stretched out the hose to pump the insulation through and sprayed the WeatherShield in the attic. After removing the blower hose, plastic and tools, the vacuumed their work area. in addition to energy savings we will receive, we have noticed a quieter upstairs from the sound damping effect from the extra insulation. Highly recommend this company. Thank you, Clarence S

Had Cosy out to blow in insulation. Company was great to deal with from booking the appointment through completion of service. Workers were careful to put down plastic and clean up after themselves. Price was also very reasonable. Would highly recommend them

Mike and his team at Cosy Insulation truly impressed us with our attic insulation upgrade to an R-50 value using Weathershield™ loose-fill cellulose fiber insulation. Peter and Bruce, the installers, were not only friendly but also highly professional. They worked with remarkable efficiency and left the place spotless after the installation. Mike's pricing is very competitive, making Cosy Insulation an excellent choice for attic insulation upgrades. I highly recommend their services.

Still have questions about attic insulation in Sylvan Lake? Contact Cosy Insulation & Roofing today for expert advice and a free estimate.

The cold winters in Sylvan Lake can lead to heat loss and roof problems. Good insulation reduces energy use, keeps your home comfortable, and helps prevent moisture issues.

By improving attic insulation, Sylvan Lake residents often cut heating costs by 15%–25%, especially in older properties where insulation is thin or worn out.

In Sylvan Lake, blown-in cellulose and fiberglass insulation perform well against harsh cold. They’re ideal for topping up existing insulation, giving your home added defense and better energy savings.

Cold spots, uneven heating, and gaps in attic coverage are strong indicators. Older houses, particularly pre-1990 builds, often benefit most from added insulation.

On average, insulation lasts two to three decades. Still, Sylvan Lake’s climate can shorten its lifespan if the installation wasn’t done right. Regular attic inspections can prevent expensive repairs down the road.

From reducing energy bills to improving comfort, attic insulation provides year-round advantages. It also offers protection for your roof against moisture, ice buildup, and long-term deterioration.

Most Sylvan Lake homeowners see attic insulation pay for itself in 3–5 years thanks to reduced heating and cooling costs, particularly in older houses with insufficient insulation.

Blown-in insulation covers attics quickly and evenly, while spray foam forms a tight seal that prevents drafts and moisture issues. Both offer strong energy performance — your choice comes down to attic layout and cost considerations.

Yes — though more expensive at the start, spray foam provides top-tier insulation with airtight sealing and moisture control. It’s a smart choice if you want long-term comfort and energy savings.

In most cases, yes. Loose-fill insulation, typically cellulose or fiberglass, works well to top up current insulation, reaching into uneven areas and enhancing efficiency without major renovation.

Spray foam is especially effective in attics with leaks, exposed joists, or uneven surfaces. It provides moisture control and strong sealing power where other insulation types can’t. A qualified installer can help determine if it’s the right fit.

Floor insulation is usually enough, but if you use the attic regularly, insulating the roof deck adds extra warmth and efficiency. In Sylvan Lake’s climate, doing both gives the best protection.
